we are

Read about how we started, and why we do what we do for the people who have served our country.

More than just a business

Hero's Farewell is more than just a business.
It's a symbol of gratitude and respect for the sacrifices that our veterans have made.

Colin Port

Our owner and founder Colin Port is a Royal Military Police veteran and a retired Kent Police officer with a passion for military history and supporting his fellow veterans. After purchasing an ex Royal Artillery Land Rover 101FC truck, Colin saw an opportunity to use it to provide a special service for his fellow veterans - to transport them to their final resting place with dignity, respect, and honour.

With no similar services available in the area, Colin embarked on a journey to create a business that would offer a unique and memorable funeral experience for veterans and their families. He spent countless hours restoring the Land Rover to its former glory, and it now serves as a fitting tribute to those who have served their country.

Since buying the Land Rover, Colin has also added an Austin Champ and a Rapier Anti-Aircraft Missile Resupply Trailer to the collection.
